Investments, Trade and Industry CS Rebecca Miano says Kenya Development Corporation and United Green Investment Group have signed an MOU to develop an advanced US $275 Million climate-smart agri-food systems investment.

 

 


 

CS Hon. Rebecca Miano intends to establish a "Karibu Desk" to serve as the first point of call for all local and international investors to enhance Kenya's investment climate.

Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry (MITI) Hon. Rebecca Miano has today signed Performance Contracts with her three Principal Secretaries in a meeting at the Kenya School of Government where she called for a 'Whole of Ministry Approach' in the implementation of the contract.

MITI CS Hon. Rebecca Miano and the PSs planted trees as part of GoK's initiative to plant 15 billion trees by 2032, a move aimed at reducing greenhouse emissions, stopping and reversing deforestation, and, restoring 5.1 million hectares of deforested and degraded landscapes

Hon. Rebecca Miano officiated the launch of a transformative partnership between the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), World Bank and Kenya Investment Authority (KenInvest)  to develop and implement an Investment Facilitation Framework and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Attraction Strategy. The framework is aimed at creating a transparent, predictable, efficient and trusted mechanism for effective investment facilitation.

The Principal Secretary, Abubakar Hassan, officially launched the Industrial Park and special economic zone; Nairobi Gate. This commitment in fostering a condusive business environment attracting investment and facilitating international trade to transform Kenya's manufacturing, warehousing, logistic and transport sector

In a recent development, the Cabinet Secretary, Hon. Rebecca Miano, engaged in a fruitful meeting with the National Investment Council. During the meeting, valuable insights into the council's initiatives were exchanged. Together, they delved into various avenues aimed at enhancing investments and driving economic growth in Kenya. The discussions underscored the significance of a robust partnership between the public and private sectors as a crucial element for fostering a resilient economy.

The Department staff in collaboration with Lamu County Locals participated today in Mangroves tree planting at Wiyoni Beach in Lamu Island.

The State Department for Investment promotion jointly organized the Kenya- Czech Republic Business Forum yesterday. H.E. Petr Fiala graced the form as the prime minister for the Czech Republic, who government officials and private sector players accompanied. PS State Department for Industry made remarks on behalf of CS Rebecca Miano.

Investment Promotion staff participated in tree planting in Mpeketoni Boys High School Lamu as part of Social Responsibility and attaining the Presidential vision of Jaza Miti by 2027 of 15 billion trees. The Lamu Youth Organisation and the Lamu County Government joined them.
