The Principal Secretary for the State Department for Investment Promotions, Mr. Abubakar Hassan Abubakar, today joined key stakeholders at the inaugural World Chambers Federation (WCF) Africa Summit held at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Upper Hill, Nairobi. This historic event marked the first time the summit has been held on African soil.

The State Department for Investment Promotion hosted a strategic engagement with a high-powered international delegation comprising investors and industry leaders from the United States, China and Southern Asia as part of a scouting mission to explore opportunities in the country’s burgeoning textile and garment industry.

The Government has embarked on the implementation of a 10 year Kenya Jobs and Economic Transformation (KJET) Project funded by the World Bank at a cost of close to Ksh.19.5 billion (USD 150 Million). Implementation of the KJET Project is being coordinated by both the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry in collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development.

In a historic first visit to Kenya, His Excellency Dr. Alex Stubb, President of the Republic of Finland, today led a high-level Finnish delegation to the Kenya-Finland Business Forum held at the JW Marriott Hotel in Nairobi. The event marked the first inaugural state visit by a Finnish President to Kenya, underscoring the deepening economic and diplomatic relations between the two nations.

Thehigh level event themed "Digitalizing Trade," brought together public and private sector leaders from Kenya and the European Union to explore new opportunities for sustainable investment and trade in the digital age.

The Principal Secretary for Investment Promotion, Mr. Abubakar Hassan, joined government leaders, investors and the business community at the first Murang’a Investment Conference, hosted at Thika Greens Golf Resort by Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata. The event was officially opened by His Excellency President William Ruto and marked a key milestone in Kenya’s strategy to transform counties into industrial and investment hubs.

The State Department for Investment Promotion (SDIP) held its annual strategy meeting on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at the Sarova Panafric Hotel, bringing together staff from across all departments. The session, hosted by Principal Secretary Abubakar Hassan Abubakar, focused on fostering interdepartmental synergy, aligning performance goals and strengthening service delivery as the department enters the new fiscal year.
